Being creative has always been a part of my life. I graduated with a BA Honours degree in Carpet Design and Related Textiles (in the UK) where I enjoyed the process of working with and manipulating different materials - wools, plastics, paper and embroidery. Prior to moving to Australia in the early 2000’s, I also worked with the surface design of hand made and painted ceramics at Emma Bridgewater pottery.

Since living in Perth, Australia I have taken painting classes with Jane McKay and now produce acrylic paintings with a contemporary abstract feel. I am constantly inspired by both the ocean, with its often dynamic movement and the land with its ever changing colours and hues. I particularly enjoy experimenting with different styles and methods, whether it be pouring the paint onto the canvas and allowing the fluidity of the paint to lead the way, or by building up layers of colour using brush strokes, texture and mark making. Whatever the style, I like mixing careful manipulation with happy accidents which often take the work in a completely different direction.

With an upcoming move to the UK I look forward to spending more time painting, experimenting and creating a body of work to share.
